The Business That We Call "Our Life"

One would think that as we have been in school for a full six weeks, that life would be somewhat normal . . . that a routine would be established and easy to follow. NOT!

Jason has been working hard with the band getting ready for their UIL contest this month. Unfortunately, my extra curricular activities have moved to Tuesday nights at the football stadium, creating a dilemma for the band who have been practicing on this very field every Tuesday night. Jason, being the creative person that he is, had the band scrape the loose gravel from the parking lot in order to have a place to practice.

My days have been filled with cheers, chants, dances, and stunts. My girls are getting better with each practice and performance. I could not be more pleased with their progress. Last night was a trial of its own at the football game. We were playing in two locations and we had a player hurt at both locations. Both boys had to be transported to hospitals and both had connections to my cheerleaders, requiring them to leave the game also. One of the boys was taken to the hospital by the house. So after getting the other girls home, I called Alyssa to come to the house to stay with Maddi while I made an appearance at the hospital. It was important for my girls to know that I was there for them and cared about them. Both of the injured boys are fine and will recover fully in a couple of days.

While at the game last night, Maddi was quite taken with "Spike" the mascot. The squad was great with Maddi and all enjoyed the time spent together.

The latest news with Maddi-Moo is she is quite the driver! We have been on a mission to try to find a Step 2 Swing Set for the backyard. No luck, but on one venture into Toys R Us, Maddi discovered the Cozy Coupe. She pushed the car to the front of the store and would not let us put it back. So, we caved and bought one. This has provided hours of fun for her and us. We were on the driveway, which is an incline, and one of us would sit at the top with the other at the bottom. We would let Maddi "drive" down the hill, only to be caught by one of us and pushed back up the hill. This went on for a good hour. The car is now upstairs with her house, and she goes everywhere in it, backwards!

  1. Noah did the same thing. He also got out and pushed it everywhere. Now, he has figured out how to make it go forward without getting his feet caught. I miss you guys.
